Mercer County 4-H STEM Ambassadors are expanding their volunteering to help start similar programs in other counties. For two Saturdays in May and June, our Mercer County 4-H STEM Ambassadors supported the efforts of Warren County 4-H in piloting a new program, STEM Saturdays. Our STEM Ambassadors have experience delivering STEM programming to younger youth through volunteering at many of our programs and events. When they learned that another 4-H program wanted to start a STEM program, our STEM Ambassadors jumped at the opportunity. They traveled up to Warren County to lead the delivery of STEM programming.
Our 4-H STEM Ambassadors have led several activities for Warren County youth, including bubble rockets, Mission to Mars rover-building, Sphero robots, MakeyMakey, basics of coding, and chemical reactions making slime. Having much experience delivering programming, the teens led these activities and the days. We support these efforts and are delighted to see our local youth expand their volunteering to support fellow 4-H county programs as they share their talent, skills, and love of science.
Warren County 4-H will continue to develop its STEM Saturday program and start again in the fall.
