FCHS Educator, Ricardo Kairios, traveled to Washington D.C. to attend the 2023 Society for Nutrition Education and Behavior Annual Conference. During the conference, Ricardo visited the U.S. Capitol as a member of the Advisory Committee on Public Policy to speak with House Staff and Agriculture Committee Members and to provide recommendations that support priorities related to the Farm Bill. These priorities included expanding and improving access to food and nutrition education programs, strengthening the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), supporting local and sustainable food systems, addressing food waste, and promoting equity in food access.
