The Mercer County Commission on the Status of Women, which was established under the Mercer County Department of Human Services in 1976, hosted its annual award ceremony last month to honor those selected for the Young Woman of Achievement Award. The award recognizes the time and dedication of outstanding high school seniors for their volunteer work within the county.
This year, Rithika Bodicherla of the Robbinsville Innovation 4-H Club was one of three recipients to win the 2025 award.
Rithika described what the award means to her: ” It was a great honor and privilege of mine to receive this award. I had an amazing opportunity to interact with many strong and dedicated women who helped shape our county.

This experience has motivated me to continue my volunteer work in efforts to help contribute to my society. I would like to thank 4-H for giving me the opportunity to run STEM based workshops and programs in order to give back to my community. I truly wouldn’t have been able to achieve my goals and aspirations without the support and resources that I was given through 4-H.”
Congratulations to Rithika for all she does in support of individuals in Mercer County, but also for the example she provides to those she mentors in her 4-H club and in all her volunteer work.
