Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Mercer County invites you to a thought-provoking and action-driven webinar on February 24, co-facilitated by Ricardo Kairios, FCHS Educator and Assistant Professor. This session, “Embracing Racial Equity and Justice in Food Systems: Tools from the Food Solutions New England 21-Day Racial Equity Challenge (FSNE-REC),” will explore how racial equity, food justice, and nutrition education intersect and what we can do to foster meaningful change.

Why This Conversation Matters
Food systems shape our communities, yet structural inequities often determine who has access to healthy, affordable, and culturally relevant food. The FSNE-REC is a powerful initiative designed to help individuals and organizations reflect on these disparities and take steps toward greater equity in food systems. Through this webinar, Ricardo and fellow facilitators will share strategies, tools, and key takeaways from the challenge, providing attendees with actionable steps to integrate racial equity into food systems work. He will also discuss insights from his collaborations with the Society for Nutrition Education and Behavior (SNEB) and its Committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, fostering rich dialogues on these pressing issues.
