Mercer County 4-H continues its strong, twelve-year partnership with Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) to deliver engaging Science Saturday programming for Trenton area youth in 4th-7th grades. For the 2024-2025 school year, participants attended six monthly sessions, from October 2024 to March 2025, focused on science, technology, engineering, mathematics, the scientific method, and collaborative teamwork. These valuable learning experiences are made possible by the dedication of teen volunteers from our STEM Ambassadors program and skilled BMS professionals working in STEM fields. Their diverse perspectives and real-world insights enhance the program for all participants.

This past March marked the successful completion of the 2024-2025 Tomorrow’s Innovators program. The closing ceremony at the Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Mercer County office celebrated the participants’ achievements as they presented their science fair projects to family and friends. Working in small groups, the students designed and executed two-session science fair experiments, applying the scientific method to explore topics ranging from iodine concentration in solutions to the effect color has on memory. The young scientists confidently shared their findings and experimental processes with an enthusiastic audience.
We are excited to welcome a new cohort of aspiring science learners for the 2025-2026 Science Saturday Tomorrow’s Innovators program this fall.
