Mercer County 4-H continues its after-school enrichment partnership with the Children’s Home Society. Each season, 4-H provides different STEM enrichment to the center’s youth. This spring, we offered a digital media series where the participating youth used technology to bring their creativity to life. During the 10-session series, the participants learned how to make GIFs, animate drawings, use green screens to add movie effects, create pop art, and produce stop motion animation. After learning all these techniques for story-telling, the series ended with our participants making their own stop motion animation short films. They expressed themselves creatively using technology while learning skills that they can use throughout school and their future careers. This series was provided in English and Spanish to meet the audience’s needs.
