“Blooming Leaders, Planting Seeds for the Future” was the theme for the 64th annual 4-H South Jersey Teen Conference.
Teens from the ten southern counties participated in this day-long conference. Our Mercer County teens enjoyed a day of educational outdoor adventure and fun!
This year’s conference at the Manasquan Reservoir Environmental Center included a nature hike through the woods and a boat ride around the reservoir. The afternoon workshop took place at the Winter Run Activity Center, and the teens enjoyed painting (outdoor themes), STEM (circuits), and yoga.
Throughout the day, the teens participated in a nature scavenger hunt and photo contest. They also worked on a service project, making placemats for Meals on Wheels of Mercer County.
To conclude the day and conference, everyone participated in a fire-building activity, also attended by Smokey the Bear, and enjoyed a campfire complete with s’mores.
As a reminder of their day and to keep with their theme, the participants planted flowers to take home – Blooming Leaders, Planting Seeds for the Future!
