Many youth and adults are terrified of public speaking! Mercer County 4-H partnered with Hamilton Township School District to provide instruction on public speaking – an essential skill that, when developed, is a tool that lasts a lifetime. Through this engaging program, fourth and fifth-grade students learned how to research and present on a topic of their choice. During the first session, Sharon Gore, 4-H Educator, introduced students to the basics of how to give a presentation. Then, for the second session, students gave their very own 3-5-minute presentations.
Topics ranged from the founding of McDonalds to lucid dreams, to drawing, and even Taylor Swift!
Each student receives feedback on their presentation, a participation ribbon, and a certificate of recognition. Over 350 Hamilton Township 4th & 5th grade students participated in March!
