January 23rd begins the Rutgers Environmental Stewards program, a seventeen-week hybrid program involving self-paced online modules, in-person field trips, and interactive Zoom courses. The program covers topics such as water restoration, soil science, environmental chemistry, food waste, habitat restoration, and more. This course is a fantastic way to become more involved in your community’s sustainability efforts. Region 3 includes Mercer County, Hunterdon County, and Warren County. This cohort will be Justine Gray’s first of Environmental Stewards, and she hopes to max out her number of volunteers and help them become more involved with projects throughout the community.
The program involves a 60-hour community project of the stewards’ choosing with a host partner in the community and culminates with a summit and poster presentation.
