Three Mercer County 4-H Teens attended the inaugural 4-H Legislative Leadership Experience program. This exciting new opportunity was conducted at the New Jersey State House in Trenton on April 25th. Two virtual program sessions were held prior to the in-person event, to prepare the 4-H Teens for the experience.
The program’s goal is for students to learn about the legislative process and build awareness of proposed bills in the New Jersey Assembly and Senate. In addition, a mock legislative hearing provided 4-Hers an opportunity to practice communicating their ideas about current issues in the state.
Ed Wengryn, Research Associate at the New Jersey Farm Bureau, gave his time and expertise to the appreciative 4-H organizers to help provide an enriching experience for our members.
