Mercer County 4-H partnered with Children’s Home Society North and South to present a Sewing and Crafting camp this summer. The participants in grades 4th– 8th made sewing machine projects, including rice bags (to heat in the microwave), composition book covers (journaling), flannel lounge pants or shorts, and fleece winter hats. They also upholstered wooden tops for crates to create their own storage bins! The crafting camp used many trash to treasure items, making 3D art from toilet paper rolls and paint from Jersey soil. Some campers displayed their work at our annual Mercer County 4-H Fair!
