On a lovely Friday evening in June, over 100 students, parents, and staff from Parker Elementary School enjoyed a fun night of baseball at the Arm & Hammer Park Trenton Thunder game. FCHS worked with the school principal and Trenton Thunder staff to celebrate the school’s year-long health and wellness activities with a pre-game announcement. FCHS played a central role in Parker Elementary bringing focus to new health and wellness efforts by working with them to apply for a $10,000 Sustainable Jersey for Schools grant, which they received. Parker Elementary health and wellness activities included the creation of a School Wellness Committee, which FCHS facilitates, the purchase of over $2,000 of recess equipment, two Color Runs for students, and the start of a recreational basketball team and a cheerleading squad. FCHS was so pleased to play a role in promoting health AND FUN for the Parker Elementary School Community!
