Rutgers Master Gardeners of Mercer County held their first public event since the start of the pandemic. On Saturday, May 14, the Spring Plant Expo and Garden Market returned to Mercer Educational Gardens.
The event highlighted home-grown perennials, trees, and shrubs donated by Master Gardeners. Over 2,200 plants were shared with the public. Along with the home-grown plants offered, four area nurseries were in attendance selling top-notch plant material. More than 400 people attended the four-hour sale, and approximately one-half of the Master Gardener volunteers participated in the event, volunteering many hours of their time from planning the event to working the day of the sale.
